The Kawasaki Versys 1000 is targeted at avid tourers who want to exploring extreme capabilities along with the performance of a sports bike.
It’s first launch for 2015, Kawasaki India has officially introduced the Versys 1000 Adventure Tourer motorcycle at a price of Rs. 12.90 lakhs (ex-showroom, Pune). With touring becoming more popular by the day, the Versys 1000 offers the best of sports bike like performance along with go anywhere capabilities to the rider and has been a popular choice across the European market. In addition, Kawasaki also introduced its new dealership in Kolkata expanding its footprint across North East India.
Powering the Kawasaki Versys 1000 is a 1043cc in-line four-cylinder engine producing 120 BHP of power and 102 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed transmission that sends power to the rear wheel via a chain drive. The bike rides on a well-balanced aluminium chassis with long-travel suspension settings that enable impressive control over all kinds of road surfaces. Stopping power comes from dual 310 mm discs with four-piston callipers at the front and a 250 mm disc with single-piston calliper at the rear. The bike weighs a healthy 250 kgs, while the touring range is amplified with the fuel tank capacity of 21-litres.
In addition, the Kawasaki Versys 1000 comes with an upright seating position, windscreen and an adjustable handlebar for better rider comfort. The tourer also comes with a host of equipment on offer including an assisted slipper clutch and Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) as standard. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels. Kawasaki is bringing the Versys 1000 via the CBU route in the country and it will be retailed through all major company showrooms located in Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and now Kolkata. The Japanese automaker is also offering a range of optional accessories with the Versys 1000.
