After launching the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R officially in Indonesia a few days back, Kawasaki has now put up a video which tells you about the tech specs of the inline-four quarter-litre bike.
In the video, Kawasaki calls the inline-four engine the ‘Only In-Line Four Engine’ in the 250cc class, which is somewhat false given the existence of the Honda CBR250RR. The 2020 version of the Honda CBR250RR is long due, though.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R gets an inline four-cylinder, 249.8cc mill with liquid-cooling, which dishes out 51 PS at 15,500 RPM and 22.9 Nm of torque at 14,500 RPM. Further, the motor works in sync with a 6-speed transmission and the fuel tank capacity is an impressive 15 litres.
Among other things, the video also states that the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R comes with a slipper clutch, 37 MM Showa Big Piston (SFF-BP) USD forks, Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) and two power modes as standard. The motorcycle gets all LED lights and a semi-digital instrument cluster too.
And if you get the Special Edition of the Ninja ZX-25R, you also get a bi-directional quickshifter and a dual-channel ABS, in addition to the standard equipment.
The braking duties are taken care of by Kawasaki’s own radial-mount, 4-piston monobloc caliper. I suppose Kawasaki has tried to cut some cost here, as we usually see Brembos or NISSINs on Kawasaki inline-four motorcycles. Further, Kawasaki also praises the sweet sound of the inline-four motor repeatedly in the video.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R retails at IDR 9,60,00,000 (Rs. 4.99 lakhs) for the standard variant while the “Special Edition” comes at IDR 11,29,00,000 (Rs. 5.87 lakhs). Both are on-road prices. However, it is unlikely that we will see this in Indian stores anytime soon.
