After an exciting track day for existing customers, Kawasaki has finally launched the mad Ninja H2 in India and it is the hottest bike in the country.
After revealing the bike to the world last year, Kawasaki has finally launched the Ninja H2 in India. The Ninja H2 is a super high performance bike and it is slotted at the upper end of the performance bike segment. This bike is also the only one in the litre-class segment that comes with a supercharged engine. On the looks front, we have said it umpteen number of times that this sports bike looks spectacular and equally aggressive. The H2 is sure to grab eyeballs wherever it goes and is a sure-shot attention magnet. The Kawasaki Ninja H2 has been launched at a price tag of Rs. 29 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) at an event at the Buddh International Circuit.
The Kawasaki Ninja H2 is powered by a 998cc, inline-four-cylinder supercharged engine that churns out power in excess of 200 PS (210 PS with Ram air) and 133 Nm of torque. If you think 200 PS on this bike is crazy, then let us mention that the race-track oriented version of the Ninja H2, i.e. H2R belts out even more power at 300 BHP (it’s not coming to India though). The H2 also comes with ABS and dual Brembo discs at the front and a single disc at the rear. The sprint from 0-100 km/hr takes 2.5 seconds while it is capable of reaching a top speed of 300 km/hr.
Kawasaki commenced bookings for the bike a couple of months back and yes the bike is sold out here. It is being retailed through Kawasaki only showrooms and there are 5 outlets currently in the country. Kawasaki will open 3-4 more exclusive showrooms in India in this fiscal and will launch two new models in the same time period. It will also sell apparel accessories through its showrooms. The company has 7 superbikes on offer and plans to continue with the price cut on the Z800. The Japanese automaker will organise more events where people can get close with Kawasaki bikes.
The Kawasaki Ninja H2 will be imported as a CBU just like many other motorcycles from the company’s stable. Only five units of the bike have been allotted for the Indian market in 2015. Kawasaki will offer the motorcycle to only a select set of customers and not anyone and everyone is free to buy the bike. While the Ninja H2 doesn’t really have a lot of rivals, it will still compete with the new generation Yamaha R1 and the BMW S1000RR because both of these produce power in excess of 200 BHP and come in the litre-class segment.
