Kawasaki Ninja 250SL price slashed heavily in Indonesia. It is a promotional offer from the Japanese bike maker to lure customers amidst crashed market. It is priced at 29,900,000 IDR (Rs. 1.61 lakhs) for a limited period of time.
In comparison, the bike’s original price tag is 40,600,000 IDR (Rs. 2.18 lakhs). This is the on-road pricing, after including all the taxes in Jakarta, Indonesia. A price difference of around Rs. 57,000/- is huge!
The offer price of the 250SL now makes it equivalent to the price of Yamaha R15 or even cheaper for some variants. Even the Honda CBR150R costs less than that in Indonesia.
Powering the Ninja 250SL is a 249cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, FI engine that produces 26 HP and 22.6 Nm of torque. This motor is paired to a 6-speed transmission.
The bike made its world premier back in 2014 at the EICMA show in Milan, Italy. The quarter litre, single-cylinder motorcycle is currently not available in the Indian market.
With such price cuts happening in emerging markets like Indonesia due to the crashing sales amidst COVID-19 crisis, we should expect similar scenario in the Indian market too. Dealers would want to clear the stock to reduce losses.
With the festive season coming up soon, we can expect a flood of deals coming out from automakers and dealers as well. The companies are already tying up with banks to offer attractive financial schemes to ease out the buying process in India.
