Surely a pleasant surprise for budding dirt riders, Kawasaki India is gearing up to launch its first off-roader in the country the ‘KLX 110’ and is the first-of-its-kind model to officially go on sale. Import data suggests that Kawasaki has imported several units of the KLX 110 off-roader and the launch is expected to happen in the following weeks. The off-roader is targeted at young riders who wish to explore the sport or take up dirt riding as a career.

The Kawasaki KLX 110 comes with the quintessentially sporty styling done up in a single lime green shade while power on the model comes from an 112cc air-cooled, 4-stroke, single-cylinder engine, paired to a 4-speed transmission with an automatic clutch for stall-free shifting. The bike gets meaty 30 mm hydraulic telescopic forks at the front with a monoshock setup at the rear while braking performance comes from drum brakes at the front and rear.

In terms of dimensions, the Kawasaki KLX 110 uses a high tensile steel frame and measures 61.4-inches in length, 25.6-inches in width and 37.6-inches in height while the ground clearance stands at a healthy 8.5-inches. The low seat height at 26.8-inches makes the Kawasaki KLX 110 easily accessible for kids. Moreover, with the model officially available, owners will have to worry less about servicing and parts availability.

That said, the Kawasaki KLX 110 is not street legal and needs to be ridden inside a closed circuit, similar to ATVs. The automaker will be importing the off-roader from Thailand given the niche segment it is, the model will be brought in as a CBU, so prices are expected to be in the vicinity of Rs. 1-1.5 lakhs (ex-showroom, Pune).
