Dzire is way ahead of competition as sales start reviving

June 2020 sedan sales are quite weak but still way better than the May 2020. With a range of new sedans already launched and more models being introducing in the coming days, we expect a strong growth towards revival by the festive season.

Compact sedans have contributed with 7923 cumulative sales with a decline of 67 percent compared to previous year. The Dzire is ruling the roost here with Maruti selling 5843 units in June. Still, 61 percent YoY fall in numbers.

Hyundai Xcent/Aura comes a distant second with 1016 units and 53 percent decline. The Tata Tigor manages 3 digit sales of 553 units and 62 percent fall in sales. The Ford Aspire is the least affected here with 18 percent decline and 381 units sold. Surprisingly Honda Amaze is the last one on the list with 139 units and 97 percent fall in numbers.

Verna is leading the C-segment but the new City is coming soon to disrupt the segment

In the C-segment, Hyundai Verna continues to lead the pack with 1083 units and 52 percent degrowth. However, with the new City coming on 15th July, it will be interesting to see the data of this month with some repositioning. The 4th gen City comes second with 585 units and 76 percent degrowth.

Skoda Rapid is the least affected here with 6 percent degrowth and 577 unit sales. Thanks to the attractive price, it is getting some attention. Maruti Ciaz is surprisingly in the 4th position with 553 units and 76 percent YoY fall. VW Vento has managed 282 units with 37 percent decline. Toyota Yaris has scored a poor 79 unit sales with 35 percent decline.

Surprisingly Skoda Octavia RS is selling more than the Elantra and Civic

Look who’s leading the D-segment, the Skoda Octavia RS! Yes, the Rs. 40 lakhs+ sedan has sold 21 units to the enthusiasts with 88 percent decline since the regular Octy is discontinued. The Hyundai Elantra has scored 15 with 75 percent degrowth. Honda Civic is at 14 units with 94 percent fall in numbers.

Superb continues to lead the D+ segment, only 2 contenders in the list

Only 2 sedans in the D+ segment with Skoda Superb leading with 41 units and 61 percent fall in YoY sales. Toyota Camry comes second with 26 units and 33 percent degrowth.
