Powertrain Specifications
Under the hood, the Meridian X is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine, delivering 170 HP and 350 Nm of peak torque. The engine is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox or an optional 9-speed torque converter automatic. However, it remains unclear whether the Meridian X will be offered with both gearbox options and whether it will come with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
Upcoming Meridian Facelift
In addition to the launch of the Meridian X, Jeep is preparing for a mid-life update to the standard Meridian later this year. Recent sightings of the updated model during testing suggest it will feature subtle styling tweaks, including revised bumpers and a new grille design. The most significant upgrade will be the inclusion of an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite. The updated Meridian will continue to compete with the Skoda Kodiaq, MG Gloster and Toyota Fortuner.
Jeep has introduced this special edition to boost the sales of the Meridian and clear the stock ahead of the facelift’s launch. The updated model is expected to launch by this festive season. It will get styling changes and new features on offer to keep up with the tough competition, which is currently led by the Fortuner.
