Jeep Grand Cherokee price revealed for India, deliveries commence later this month
Jeep Grand Cherokee in its 5th generation has been launched in India with an introductory price of Rs. 77.50 lakhs (ex-showroom). It is a 5-seater version and will be locally assembled in India.
In terms of styling, it is unmistakably a Jeep following the same family DNA like the Compass, Meridian and Wagoneer. It has a straightforward SUV design that looks rugged at the same time. Some of you believe the rear looks very similar to the Maruti Grand Vitara.
The interior looks very premium thanks to the unique dashboard design. It comes with a 10.25-inch passenger screen and 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Jeep is also offering a 10-inch heads-up display.
Some of the safety tech includes Active Driving Assistance System(ADAS), 360-Degree Surround View, Drowsy Driver Detection, 3 Point seatbelt and Occupant Detection for all 5 passengers.
It is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing 272 HP and 400 Nm of torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Sadly there is no diesel engine on offer, it comes only in a single variant.
It’s a Jeep and of course it comes with a 4×4 system which they like to call as Quadra-Trac system and Selec-Terrain traction management system. It has 215 mm ground clearance and 533 mm of water fording capability.
The Grand Cherokee will compete with the likes of Mercedes GLE, BMW X5, Land Rover Velar, etc. in the Indian market. Deliveries to commence later this month.
