The much-awaited Jeep Compass will be unveiled in India on 12th April 2017.
Jeep will be unveiling its latest offering, the Compass in India on 12th April. The SUV brand entered the Indian market last year with its premium offerings but now the automaker is gearing up to launch an SUV that will be targeted towards the mass-market segment.
The Jeep Compass was revealed last year and it gets equipment like LED lights, 18-inch alloys, powered tailgate, panoramic roof, LED instrument cluster, 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, rear camera, powered driver seat, auto-dimming IRVM, etc.
The Compass will be Jeep’s first locally produced SUV in India. It will be assembled at the FCA-Tata Ranjangaon facility in Pune. Jeep India will exclusively manufacture the Compass in RHD configuration. The SUV is likely to get a 1.4-litre MultiAir turbo petrol engine and a 2.0-litre MultiJet diesel engine.
The engines will be offered with 6-speed and 9-speed automatic gearboxes for the petrol and diesel engines respectively. The diesel variant might also get the Jeep Active Drive 4WD system.
