Jawa has launched two new motorcycles in India – Jawa and Jawa Forty Two.
The much awaited Jawa bikes have re-entered the Indian market. The Czech brand has launched their first two motorcycles – Jawa Forty Two and Jawa. The Jawa Forty Two is priced at Rs. 1.55 lakhs while the Jawa is priced at Rs. 1.64 lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom).
While the Jawa Forty Two is a modern classic motorcycle, the Jawa is an original classic styled motorcycle. Both the bikes share most of the specifications. Powered by a 293cc, single-cylinder, liquid cooled, DOHC engine that produces 27 BHP and 28 Nm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and gets a twin exhaust.
The bikes are underpinned by a double cradle chassis. They get telescopic hydraulic forks at the front and twin hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. The Jawa bikes get 280 mm front disc with floating caliper and ABS while the rear gets 153 mm drum brake.
The front tyre is a 90/90/18 while the rear is a 120/80/17. Seat height is 765 mm while the wheelbase is 1369 mm. The bikes weigh 170 kg and have 14-litre fuel tank capacity.
The Jawa Forty Two is available in 6 colour options – Nebula Blue, Comet Red, Starlight Blue, Lumos Lime, Halley’s Teal and Galactic Green. While the Jawa is available in only three colour options – Grey, Maroon, Black.
The bike maker has also showcased the more premium bobber style motorcycle – Jawa Perak. This bike has been priced at Rs. 1.89 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and will be available to book sometime next year.
