The Jawa Perak has been launched in India. It is a single-seater bike and is priced at Rs. 1.89 lakhs.
After Royal Enfield captured the market for middle-weight bikes and stayed at the top for over a decade, it will soon start to face fresh competition. Classic Legends, a subsidiary of Mahindra, have re-launched the Jawa brand in India. And these are strong competitors for Royal Enfield bikes. Jawa is entering the market with three motorcycle – the Jawa, Jawa Forty Two and the Jawa Perak. The Jawa and the Forty Two will be available in the market this year while the Perak will hit showrooms next year.
The Jawa Perak is a single seater, with the seat placed lower than the other models. This is in line with the bobber styling. The bike is also longer than the rest of its peers. The custom side panels and shorter exhaust pipes further compliment the body. The Perak will host a 334cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor. The motorcycle outputs a maximum of 30 BHP and 31 Nm of peak torque.
Other premium shades for the Jawa Perak are likely to be available since the other two models have a wide set of eye-pleasing colour options. The rear suspension on the Perak is a monoshock, resulting in a lot of work for the brand in total.
The Jawa Perak offers a different change to the usual middle-weight bikes that run on our roads. The single-seater is designed to keep the attention of the rider on the machine. Priced at Rs. 1.89 lakh, this Jawa caters to the Indian customer that is ready to pay more to get a new feel from the biking experience. We can expect to see stiff competition between the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the Jawa Perak once sales of this Jawa bobber commence next year.
