The anniversary edition Jaguar XJ gets luxurious interiors with prominent branding of the XJ50.
To celebrate half a century’s worth of its achievements in integrating performance, technology and luxury, Jaguar announced the launch of the Jaguar XJ50. This is the anniversary edition model of the XJ that has completed 50 years. The vehicle is priced at Rs. 1.11 crores (ex-showroom).
The special edition XJ50 comes with a 3.0-litre, 301 HP generating diesel powertrain. The engine is mated to a 8-speed automatic transmission. The car also comes with technology to improve the driver experience like the All Surface Progress Control and the Complete Command features. It is also built out of a monocoque lightweight chassis.
The changes to the exterior look include the addition of the Autobiography-style front and rear bumpers, 19-inch wheels, chrome radiator grille with chrome surround. It has a unique badging on both rear and side vents. The colour options that potential buyers can choose from include Fuji White, Santorini Black, Loire Blue and Rosello Red.
The interiors have been revamped as a tribute to the 50 years of manufacturing luxury vehicles. The cabin houses soft-grain diamond-quilted seats. The seats have an embossed leaper on the headrests and the centre armrest is imprinted with an XJ50 logo. The branding of the special edition is also prominent on the illuminated treadplates, the anodised gearshift paddles and bright metal pedals.
The design cues characteristic to the XJ – the wraparound rear windshield and the cat-claw inspired rear lights also remain the same.
