The Jaguar XE facelift has been launched in India, gets changes to the exterior and interior.
The Jaguar XE was launched in 2016 and earlier this year, the British automaker showcased the facelifted version of this sedan internationally. Now, the Jaguar XE facelift has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs. 44.98 lakhs (ex-showroom).
The Jaguar XE facelift comes with tweaks to the exteriors. It gets redesigned LED headlamps and tail lamps, a sharper front bumper, rear bumper with a diffuser, and a new design for the alloys. On the inside, the updated XE gets a digital instrument cluster, a bigger touchscreen but the AC and seat controls don’t get a touchscreen which is offered in international markets. Jaguar has also replaced the rotary gear selector knob with a conventional gear lever.
While the Jaguar XE comes with the same petrol and diesel engines, both the units have been upgraded to comply with BS6 norms. The 2.0-litre petrol engine makes 250 HP and 365 Nm while the 2.0-litre diesel engine produces 180 HP and 430 Nm. The XE is a RWD and power is channelled through an 8-speed ZF auto box.
The Jaguar XE facelift rivals the Mercedes C-Class, Audi A4 and BMW 3-Series. While Mercedes and Audi launched facelifted versions of their respective sedans this year, BMW introduced the new generation G20 3-Series in the Indian market just recently.
