Jaguar to make substantial changes in their vehicle lineup in the near future
Jaguar is set to undergo a significant transformation in the near future as it shifts its production focus from sedans and sports cars to SUVs. The decision marks the end of an era for models such as the XE, XF and F-Type, which will cease production in a matter of weeks at the Castle Bromwich factory in Birmingham.
With the impending retirement of these models, Jaguar’s lineup will now solely consist of SUVs, including the I-Pace, E-Pace and F-Pace, which will remain on sale through 2024. This strategic move reflects Jaguar’s response to evolving market demands and its commitment to aligning its offerings with consumer preferences.
The transition signifies a new chapter for Jaguar, with plans underway to introduce a range of electric vehicles starting in 2025. Among the forthcoming models is a 600 BHP electric four-seat GT car, poised to rival competitors like the Porsche Taycan. This will be followed by a luxury SUV and a large luxury saloon, all built on Jaguar’s bespoke JEA platform, signalling a departure from its current lineup.
Despite the imminent discontinuation of the XE, XF and F-Type, customers still have the opportunity to order these models, albeit with set specifications, until production ceases. Jaguar’s North American CEO, Joe Eberhardt, assures that there will be a continuous supply of vehicles until the launch of the new lineup, ensuring a seamless transition for customers.
Castle Bromwich will halt car production in June. However, the duration of supply for the remaining Brit-built models remains unclear. Jaguar to relocate the production of its upcoming EVs.
Last year’s sales figures underscore the popularity of Jaguar’s models, with the XE and XF experiencing significant increases in sales compared to previous years. Despite being more than a decade old, the F-Type continues to garner interest.
