The Jaguar F-Type SVR, launched in Coupe and Convertible forms, is now available at a starting price of Rs. 2.45 crores.
The Jaguar F-Type SVR is the first Jaguar vehicle to roll out from the British brand’s SVO (Special Vehicle Operations) unit. The team at SVO is known to improve cars to offer exhilarating performance, intricate details and an unmatched drive experience. The F-Type SVR, which adopts a retuned engine and several weight saving tactics, is no different.
A supercharged version of Jaguar’s 5.0-litre engine does duty under the hood of the aerodynamic two-seater. Mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, the V8 pushes out 567 BHP of power and 700 Nm of torque. While the 100 km/hr mark is cracked in 3.7 seconds, the F-Type SVR can achieve a top speed of 322 km/hr. The Convertible guise, due to its additional weight, hits a relatively slower top whack of 313 km/hr.
The carbon fibre rear wing on the Jaguar F-Type SVR increases down force, while the lightweight exhaust system and forged wheels make room for significant weight reduction. The F-Type SVR puts all that power to rest with the help of 398 mm front and 380 mm rear carbon ceramic brakes, which can be had as an option. The all-wheel drive and torque vectoring systems make use of 10 mm wider Pirelli tyres to offer utmost grip through corners.
Quilted performance seats adorn the cabin of the Jaguar F-Type SVR, while output from the TouchPro infotainment unit is channeled through a 10-speaker Meridian sound system. The F-Type SVR gives stern competition to the likes of the Nissan GT-R and Porsche 911 Turbo S. While bookings have already started, deliveries are expected to commence from next year. Meanwhile, Jaguar has also introduced British Design Edition of its F-Type S and introduced all-wheel drive system in F-Type R.
