Jaguar F-Pace specs for India have been officially revealed by the company on their website. The SUV is scheduled to launch later this year and will majorly go against the Porsche Macan.
The Jaguar F-Pace was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. The aggressive looking SUV will be the first of its kind by Jaguar and will be official launched by the end of this year. For now, though, the company has published the SUV’s specs for India on its official website.
The Jaguar F-Pace will be sold in India in three variants: Pure, Prestige, and R-Sport. All variants will be powered by diesel engines. The Pure and Prestige will get a four-cylinder 2.0-litre unit, which outputs 177 HP of power at 4000 RPM and 430 Nm of torque between 1750-2500 RPM. Thus, the Pure and Prestige will complete the 0-100 km/hr sprint in a claimed 8.7 seconds with a top speed of 208 km/hr. Meanwhile, the R-Sport, as the name suggests will act as a sportier version of the F-Pace, and will get a six-cylinder 3.0-litre oil burner, outputting 296 HP of power from the same 4000 RPM mark, and a whopping 700 Nm of torque from as low as 2000 RPM.
The R-Sport will be doing 100 km/hr in about 6.2 seconds and has a top whack of 241 km/hr. Both the engines come married to an 8-speed gearbox powering all four wheels. Interestingly, the SUV gets no petrol option, even after the looming uncertainties since the ban on diesel SUVs over 2.0-litre engines in the Delhi NCR region.
All the cars will come equipped with features like cruise control, heated and electronically folding ORVMs, dual zone climate control, 10 way electronically adjustable seats, Jaguar’s proprietary InControl touch screen infotainment system, and parking sensors on the front and rear. Additionally, the R-Sport will get 19-inch alloys (as compared to 18-inch units on the Pure and Prestige), mood lighting, reclining rear seats, Jaguar’s InControl Pro touch infotainment system, and a surround-camera system.
The F-Pace when launched will compete directly against the Porsche Macan due to its very similar sporting credentials. The price tag is expected to hover around the Rs. 90 lakhs mark, which is on the premium side just like the Porsche Macan.
