Isuzu MU-X facelift spotted on test, gets a new 1.9-litre diesel heart.
The Isuzu MU-X facelift has been spied on test in India with a new 1.9-litre diesel engine. The refreshed SUV is expected to be launched in the country by the festive season this year.
In terms of exterior and interior changes, the Isuzu MU-X gets LED headlights with integrated LED DRLs, revised front grille and bumpers. The SUV also gets newly designed double-spoke alloy wheels and slightly tweaked tail-lights with the LED graphics. However, the cabin remains vastly unchanged save for the new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system in place of a 7-inch unit and new wood inserts.
The 1.9-litre Ddi Blue Power diesel engine makes 164 PS of power and 360 Nm of torque. 2WD is offered as standard while a 4WD set up will be offered as optional. The diesel motor comes mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The Japanese automaker has decided to shift to the downsized diesel motor due to the upcoming BS6 emission norms. The new 1.9-litre diesel motor will eventually make it to the D-Max V-Cross as well but that’s likely to happen sometime next year.
