The 2016 Indian Springfield has been launched in India with a price tag of Rs. 30 lakhs. Bookings for the motorcycle are open but deliveries will begin from August 2016 only.
American motorcycle make Indian forayed into India in 2014 to compete in the growing long-distance touring motorcycle domain. The legendary name quickly acquired a sizeable following due to the gorgeous looking bikes in the company’s portfolio. Now the motorcycle-maker has decided to expand its line-up in India by introducing the 2016 Indian Springfield Motorcycle with a price tag of Rs. 30.6 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The bookings of the motorcycle are set to begin from April 15, 2016. However, deliveries will commence from August, 2016 only. The bike, named after the birthplace of the motorcycle brand, brings together a classic styling with modern technology to offer enthusiastic riders both, touring comfort and urban versatility. The motorcycle will be offered with a choice of two colours.
The 2016 Indian Springfield is based on an all-new chassis to make it capable of carrying higher loads. The company says the bike can carry a total weight of 242 kgs including the rider and his luggage. Other features of the bike include heated driver and passenger seats, a 64.3 litres accessory trunk, heated grips, quick release wind-shield and all-weather, remote-locking saddle bags.
The motorcycle is powered by the fuel-injected Thunderstroke 1811cc V-Twin engine which develops 139 Nm of twisting force at 2600 RPM. The motorcycle is equipped with tourer-oriented steering geometry that gives it better handling on the open road and air-adjustable rear shocks. The standard feature list includes ABS, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic cruise control, front and rear highway bars, dual riding lights and remote locking.
