Indian Motorcycle has lifted the covers off the 2015 Indian Roadmaster which is a luxury touring bike. The bike looks good and premium while it is also big in size and road presence. The motorcycle is available in three colours – Thunder Black, Red and Red Ivory Cream. The Roadmaster is powered by a Thunder Stroke III engine with closed loop fuel injection. It comes with a multi-plate wet clutch. The Thunder Stroke engine produces a peak torque of 138.9 Nm. The front suspension consists of a telescopic fork with dual rate springs while the rear suspension consists of a single shock with pneumatic adjustment.
The 2015 Indian Roadmaster comes with a host of useful features. Since the bike is meant for long rides, it is obvious that riders would carry some amount of luggage. The tourer comes with remote locking for the saddlebags and trunk with push-button security. The saddlebags can store 65.1-litres of luggage and the trunk takes in 64.4-litres. The lower fairing glovebox and upper fairing storage provide a capacity of 9.0-litres and 3.8-litres respectively. The Roadmaster comes with LED lights for the headlight, turn indicators, fog lamps and tail lights. The bike also comes with a key fob that can be kept in the pocket and the bike can be started through keyless ignition. An individual security code can be pre-programmed in the bike which can be useful if the key fob gets lost.
The Indian Roadmaster comes with other additional features too such as Horizon Power Windshield which has push-button adjustability, heated rider and passenger seats, heated grips and adjustable floorboards. Indian Motorcycle also provides some customisation options for the bike such as the Big Sucker intake, pinnacle chrome heel shifter, chrome trunk armrest supports, trunk storage and saddlebag storage. The Roadmaster sits above the Chieftain in Indian’s lineup and will be brought to India at a price of over Rs. 35 lakhs.
