The India-spec Yamaha MT-15 has been spied undisguised before its 15th March launch.
Yamaha will launch the MT-15 in India on 15th March 2019 and the motorcycle has been spied before its launch. The bike spied in the picture is in a Matte Blue shade, similar to that of the Indonesia-spec bike, but without the fluorescent-yellow rims that are featured on the Indonesian version of the bike.
For India, the Yamaha MT-15 features black alloy wheels and green rim tape to add some zing. Yamaha also offers other colours such as Matte Grey and Metallic Black. The India-spec motorcycle does not come with USD forks, has a less contoured fuel tank and tyres sourced from MRF. A box-section swingarm will replace the cast aluminium unit as on the international-spec bike.
The bike is powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder engine as on the Yamaha R15 V3.0, which produces 19.3 BHP at 10,000 RPM and 14.7 Nm of torque at 8500 RPM. The engine comes paired to a 6-speed gearbox, with dual-channel ABS as standard. The bike will get a slipper clutch as seen on the international-spec variant. Yamaha will price the MT-15 around Rs. 1.2 lakhs (ex-showroom) and it will compete against the KTM Duke 125, Pulsar NS 200 and TVS Apache RTR 200.
