Hyundai has revealed the official design sketches of the 2021 i20 and there is no two ways about it, the premium hatchback looks sharp.
The first design renders of the 2021 i20 include the front fascia, rear section and the interior of the car.
According to the carmaker, the latest generation of the premium hatchback derives its futuristic and dynamic characteristics from its global design language, dubbed “Sensuous Sportiness”.
Also, Hyundai says the new i20 is designed to evoke an emotional “human-machine interface” that represents a persona of “tech savvy, ambitious and sophisticated” customers.
Everything about the car is scalpel sharp. Be it the bonnet creases, the ORVMs, shape of the grille, the headlights, front bumper and even the fog lamp housing, there are sharp lines everywhere.
We can also see a prominent shoulder line from the picture and the rear section of the car is much more radical with those split LED units. The black trim piece that houses the brand logo merges well with the upper part of the rear profile.
Inside, the new steering wheel and two large screens take centre stage. The dash has clean lines running across its length and aligning with the air vents.
Due to there being fewer buttons, the whole area seems decluttered and Hyundai has capitalised on that very well. However, we will have to take a look at the car up and personal to give our verdict.
For now, the 2021 Hyundai i20 design is impressive and if we go by Hyundai’s philosophy, the car will come with more equipment than one would want or use.
Launch of the car is set to happen within weeks. If you want to see spy shots of the new i20, click here.
