The 2016 Skoda Superb will be officially announced later this month in Prague and the public debut is scheduled at the Geneva Motor Show in March this year.
With the official global unveil scheduled later this month in its home city Prague, Skoda has revealed the interiors of the next generation Superb sedan in this image. Based on Volkswagen family’s new MQB platform, Skoda says that the new Superb combines spaciousness, functionality and design in a unique way. Seen in the image, the interior boasts of top-notch quality and comes with a host of creature comforts trickled down from higher segment models. The exterior takes design inspiration from the VisionC concept.
The 2016 Skoda Superb gets the new MirrorLink technology that made its debut on the Fabia last year along with an all-digital instrument console. In addition, the sedan will get some very interesting features including wireless charging solution for smartphones, on-board WiFi, a very Audi-esque headrest mounted tablets for rear passengers, individual climate control and a whole lot more. The boot capacity of the new model now stands at 625-litres which can be further increased to 1760-litres with the rear seats folded.
Powering the new generation Skoda Superb will be the all-new 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo 4-cylinder diesel engine tuned to produce 240 PS of power, paired to a DSG automatic transmission. The CO2 emissions and fuel efficiency rating will also see a significant improvement over the outgoing model. Skoda’s most popular model globally and in India as well, the new generation Superb is expected to hit the market across Europe post the reveal at the Geneva Motor Show in March while an Indian launch can be expected by early 2016 with the model being brought in via the CKD route.
