The 2016 Honda Accord facelift has undergone a number of updates in and out while it continues to be powered by the 2.0-litre V6 and 2.4-litre EarthDreams engine options.
The 2016 Honda Accord facelift has been revealed while Thailand is the first to get the updated luxury saloon as it was launched in the Thai market this week at a starting range of 1.385-1.445 million baht (Rs. 26.66 – 27.82 lakhs). The facelift has undergone a number of cosmetic updates while it gets some new features on the inside. It is scheduled to make its Indian debut this year itself.
Major cosmetic changes on the 2016 Honda Accord facelift are seen on the front fascia which looks more aggressive with a new grille housing a thick chrome bar, LED headlamps (only on the top-end variant) with DRLs, new LED fog lights and newly designed bumper. The side skirts and rear bumper are also reworked while the facelift gets new LED tail lamps. It also gets new alloy wheels.
Coming to the interior, the dashboard layout remains the same with two screens of which one is a 7.7-inch MID unit while the other one is a 7-inch infotainment system which now has Apple CarPlay, MirrorLink for smartphone connectivity and Wi-Fi connectivity. The facelift is also offered with new piano black/silver and wooden interior trims while it also boasts a remote engine start which allows the driver to start the car remotely.
The 2016 Honda Accord facelift continues to be offered with two engine options that include the 2.0-litre V6 SOHC engine that produces 155 HP and 190 Nm of torque and a 2.4-litre, EarthDreams, DOHC engine producing 174 HP and 225 Nm of torque. Both the motors are mated to a 5-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
