The upcoming 2022 Hyundai AX1 has been spied yet again and this time, the car’s entire styling is more or less visible as clear as day.
Set to be officially revealed in the coming months, the micro SUV’s teaser images were revealed only recently, which disclosed the shape of the vehicle’s lights.
From the recent set of images, the AX1’s split headlight design can be seen. While the main lights (with DRL rings) are situated in the bumper, ones for the indicators are situated atop.
The radiator grille gets a rather quirky mesh pattern (it is to be seen if it makes it to production), while an air dam is located below. Also, the bonnet is not entirely flat, for it comes with a pronounced bulge.
Riding on alloy wheels already seen on previous development mules, the recently spied 2022 Hyundai AX1 also has roof rails and a shark fin antenna.
For a car that is expected to be around 3.8 metres long, it does have a decent-sized greenhouse and like a few other 4-wheelers, the AX1 comes with rear door handles situated next to the window.
At the back, the tail lamps have overlapping circles with triangular pattern inside and there are a second set of lights positioned on the bumper for the reverse light and indicators.
Hyundai is likely to equip the micro SUV pretty well, with many of the features found on the Grand i10 NIOS also finding their way into the AX1.
To be a petrol-only vehicle, the AX1 is expected to come with 2 engine options – a 1.1-litre, 3-cylinder unit and a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder motor. Both manual and AMT gearbox options would likely be offered as well.
Hyundai will position the AX1 below the Venue in its model range and when the micro SUV gets launched in 2022, it will have to duke it out with the Tata HBX and the Maruti Suzuki Ignis.
