Hyundai Venue now gets a new, most affordable variant with sunroof
Hyundai has expanded its Venue lineup with the introduction of a new variant, the S(O) +, priced at Rs. 10 lakhs (ex-showroom). This variant, positioned between the existing S(O) and SX trims, brings the added feature of an electric sunroof, making it the most affordable Venue variant to offer this feature.
The new S(O) + variant retains the features of the S(O) trim while adding an electric sunroof. This variant is powered by a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Additionally, it includes LED projector headlamps with Daytime Running Lamps, an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a digital instrument cluster.
Safety features in the Venue S(O) + include six airbags, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Assist Control (HAC) and a rear camera, enhancing the vehicle’s safety profile.
Priced between the S(O) (Rs. 9.89 lakhs) and SX (Rs. 11.05 lakhs) variants, the S(O) + provides an attractive option for those looking for a sunroof-equipped compact SUV without opting for the higher-priced SX variant. However, it is important to note that the Hyundai Venue is not the most affordable compact SUV with a sunroof in India. The Mahindra XUV 3XO MX2 Pro still holds that title, starting at Rs. 8.99 lakhs (ex-showroom).
The Hyundai Venue competes with a range of compact SUVs in the Indian market including the Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Maruti Fronx, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and Toyota Taisor.
With the introduction of the S(O) + variant, Hyundai aims to attract a wider range of audience seeking a blend of features and affordability, particularly those interested in the added luxury of a sunroof. What are your thoughts on this move by the carmaker?
