Hyundai has launched the much awaited Venue in the Indian market, priced from Rs. 6.50 lakhs.
Hyundai Venue is a new compact SUV that is slotted between the i20 Active and Creta in the Hyundai lneup. Prices for the Venue start from Rs. 6.50 lakhs (ex-showroom, India). The car was revealed on April 17th, 2019. The Venue is feature loaded and comes in various trims, such as E, S, SX, SX+ and SX (O).
The Hyundai Venue gets split projector headlamps and LED DRL setup and situated between them is the signature Hyundai cascade grille. Along with the grille, the door handles also come finished in chrome. The car is wrapped in leather upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Venue also gets automatic climate control, electric sunroof, wireless phone charging, cooled glovebox and cruise control.
The car is fitted with Hyundai’s BlueLink connectivity solution, which has 33 integrated features out of which 10 are developed specifically for India. It is offered with a built-in Vodafone Idea eSIM and gets a smartphone application to allow interaction with the vehicle. You also get real-time traffic updates and navigation along with maps with the BlueLink connectivity. Hyundai is also providing three years of warranty (unlimited kilometres) and three-year roadside assistance (RSA) with the car.
Hyundai has fitted the car with a new 1.0-litre turbo GDI Kappa petrol engine which makes 120 PS of power and 171 Nm of torque which is mated to 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT transmission options. The 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine producing 83 PS and 115 Nm of torque comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1.4-litre diesel engine churning out 90 PS power and 220 Nm of torque is only available with a 6-speed manual transmission.
The new 1.0-litre turbo petrol returns a claimed fuel efficiency of 18.15 km/l for the automatic and 18.27 km/l for the manual. The 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine returns 17.52 km/l and 1.4-litre diesel engine returns 23.7 km/l of fuel efficiency. The Hyundai Venue has a huge rivalry in the segment competing with the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra XUV300.
