Hyundai NPX1 exhibits the first N Performance Parts (NPP) concept
Hyundai Motor Company introduces the IONIQ 5 N NPX1 concept model at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2024. This concept marks the debut of the first N Performance Parts (NPP) concept model based on the IONIQ 5 N performance oriented electric car.
Hyundai’s N Performance Parts initiative, which commenced in 2019, has been gradually expanding its offerings to cater to the tuning needs of customers. Transitioning from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles like Elantra N, i30 N and i20 N, the company now extends its specialised tuning components to all-electric N models, starting with the IONIQ 5 N.
The ‘NPX1’ concept model serves as a preview of the upcoming NPP catalog, showcasing a variety of N-specific enhancements slated for purchase in the near future. Notable features include a carbon front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser, rear wing spoiler, lightweight hybrid carbon wheels, high-performance brake pads and lowering springs. The interior also comes with Alcantara material and racing bucket seats.
While the prototype N Performance Parts applied to the NPX1 concept is currently in its developmental phase, Hyundai N aims to have these parts ready for production and sale by 2024. The company plans to kickstart the availability of N Performance Parts products with the IONIQ 5 N and progressively expand the range to cover all N models.
The new N Performance Parts products will not only be limited to tuning parts, they are also developing software customisation such as sound and vehicle calibration by OTA updates.
