Hyundai micro SUV spotted wearing heavy camouflage
Hyundai is currently developing a new micro SUV which has been spotted recently. The entry-level SUV is based on the Hyundai Grand i10 platform.
The car looks similar to the Venue if we look at the proportions. However, it will be smaller than the Venue and will be positioned below it in the Indian market, if launched.
Unlike the Venue, this micro SUV gets traditional headlight setup just under the bonnet with integrated LED DRLs that look inspired from Volvo cars. The fog lamp is positioned below on the bumper.
Under this heavy camouflage, the rear profile looks exactly like the Venue but the styling will be different. We like the fact that it has an upright stance with clean design and not a crossover that looks like a blown up hatchback.
If launched in India with an attractive price tag, it will churn out huge volumes for the carmaker. A micro SUV loaded with features, having an upright stance and confident driving position will attract a lot of buyers in India. The spy shots reveal a sunroof as well, which is a big talking point these days in our country.
Since it will be based on the Grand i10, we can expect the same engine options including the 1.2-litre petrol engine. There will be no diesel engine option. It will compete with the likes of Tata Punch and Citroen C3.
