Hyundai Le Fil Rouge Concept Showcased At 2020 Auto Expo

The Le Fil Rouge sets the tone for Hyundai’s upcoming products in terms of design.

The Hyundai Le Fil Rouge is a concept car that Hyundai first showed off at the Geneva Motor Show back in 2018. The concept has found its way to India after two years and now sits on the show floors of the 2020 Auto Expo. The car sets the design direction for the company. Its influence is certainly visible in Hyundai’s recent products.

The car looks very futuristic, even after two years, and the silver colour ups the ante in terms of class. The design elements have started to make their way into production cars. The body lines of the 2020 Hyundai Sonata are very reminiscent of this concept. The ‘cascading grille’ is also making its way into all of Hyundai’s outgoing models. The Hyundai Venue even has a similar pattern in its grille as the concept, only with less flair.

The interior of this concept is ambitious. With seats that look like they’re levitating and a centre console that shoots right to the back row. It’s safe to say that the interior looks like it’s quite out of reach from a production standpoint. Nevertheless, like many concepts, it showcases the prowess of the design team at Hyundai. But unlike many manufacturers, it’s great to see Hyundai actually take inspiration from their concept and apply it to their production cars.

For those wondering, the name “Le Fil Rouge” translates to ‘common thread’.
