Hyundai Motor India has introduced its variable warranty option, named the “Wonder Warranty” scheme, for Kona Electric customers.
According to the Korean carmaker, the Hyundai Kona Wonder Warranty pack has three options that customers can choose from. There is the 3 years/unlimited km, 4 years or 60,000 km and 5 years or 50,000 km packages that people can choose.
Existing Kona Electric customers need not worry either, since Hyundai will offer the warranty pack for them to avail of the benefits without paying extra.
Moreover, the battery warranty that lasts for eight years or 1.6 lakh km will remain applicable irrespective of the wonder warranty option that a customer chooses.
The carmaker also claims that it has ensured the installation of 7.2 kW AC chargers at more than 50 dealerships across 30 cities in the country. Kona Electric customers are also provided with the same charger and an AC wall box charger that they can use at their residence.
This latest development aside, the electric car has not received any changes. It still gets the 39.2 kWh lithium-ion battery that produces 131 PS and 395 Nm and has three drive modes – Eco, Comfort and Sport on offer.
A 50 kW DC fast charger can top up 80 percent of the total battery capacity in an hour, while the above mentioned 7.2 kW AC charger takes six hours for the same. Once fully charged, Hyundai claims the Kona Electric has a range of 452 km.
Prices of the electric car is Rs. 23.75 lakhs for the automatic premium and Rs. 23.94 lakhs for the automatic premium dual tone variant (both prices ex-showroom).
