Hyundai has finally showcased the ix25 to the public at the on-going 2014 Beijing Auto Show in China. Spy pictures of this vehicle were floating around the web since a very long time and we were really looking forward to catch this vehicle in flesh. The ix25 marks Hyundai’s entry into the compact SUV segment and the company’s SUV range now comprises of the ix25, ix35, Santa Fe and Grand Santa Fe. The Korean automaker has showcased the concept version of the SUV and company officials have stated that it will be launched in China in the second half of 2014.
The Hyundai ix25 looks like a very promising vehicle. The styling and overall design are inspired by the new Santa Fe along with following Hyundai’s Fluidic policy. The Hyundai ix25 measures 4270 mm in length, 1780 mm in width and 1630 mm in height while the wheelbase is 2590 mm. Hyundai has loaded the ix25 with all the gadgetry that you can expect out of a vehicle from this segment. The company has also taken extra care to see that quality standards are high and do not disappoint buyers. The “i” in the ix25 stands for innovative, inspiring and intelligent.
This compact SUV is targeted at the youth and Hyundai has some interesting marketing activities up its sleeve to promote the vehicle. The Hyundai ix25 will surely provide tough competition to rivals and we can only wait and see how Hyundai decides to spec this vehicle. It will be powered by a 2.0-litre Nu engine. Hyundai showcased 18 vehicles at the Beijing Auto Show including the i20 WRC, Mistra, Langdong, ix35, Santa Fe, Equus Limousine and Sonata Hybrid. The company also displayed some of its newly developed technologies including a new infotainment system.
