Hyundai Exter Launched, Priced From Rs. 6 Lakhs

Hyundai Exter price revealed, available in 6 monotone and 3 dual tone colours

Hyundai Exter launched with a starting price of Rs. 6 lakhs (ex-showroom & introductory). This is their entry-level SUV that is positioned under the Hyundai Venue.

It measures 3815 mm in length, 1710 mm in width and 1631 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2450 mm. Some of the exterior highlights include H-shaped LED DRLs, projector headlamps, faux skid plates at the front and rear, 15-inch diamond cut alloys, roof rails, spoiler, sharkfin antenna, LED indicators on ORVMs, H-shaped tail lamps, etc.

The Exter comes with an all-black interior. Most of the elements might remind you of the Grand i10 Nios. The dashboard has a connected type infotainment and cluster design.

Some of the features include footwell lighting, metal pedals, driver seat height adjustment, 391 litre boot space, smart electric sunroof with voice commands, dashcam with dual camera, wireless charger, USB type C charger, Cruise Control, Footwell Lighting, Rear AC Vents with Power Outlet, automatic climate control, Smart Key with Push Button Start, Paddle Shifters (AMT), Rear wiper & washer, Cooled Glove Box, etc.

It comes with an 8-inch infotainment system offering Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, on-board navigation and digital instrument cluster with 4.2-inch colour MID which gets multi language UI support, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Multi Drive Information, Door Open Information and Parking Distance Information.

Hyundai is offering 60 Bluelink connected car features that can be operated through smartphones or smartwatch.

The Exter is powered by a 1.2-litre Kappa naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 83 PS and 113.8 Nm torque. It comes with 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. The manual comes with an ARAI claimed fuel efficiency of 19.4 km/l while the AMT returns a claimed 19.2 km/l. Interestingly, the AMT variants come with paddle shifters, which is a feature that we haven’t seen in such mass market cars.

Hyundai is also offering the 1.2-litre Kappa petrol with CNG option that produces 69 PS and 95.2 Nm of torque. It is only available with 5-speed manual transmission.

The carmaker is offering the Exter with 6 airbags as standard across all variants. Some of the other safety features include Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle stability management (VSM), Hill assist control (HAC), Burglar alarm, 3 Point Seatbelts (All Seats), Seatbelt Reminder (All Seats), ABS (Anti-Lock braking system) with EBD, Emergency stop signal (ESS), etc.

Colour options include 6 monotone and 3 dual tone colours. There are two new exclusive colour options – Cosmic Blue and Ranger Khaki.
