Hyundai has equipped the S+ and SX trims of the Verna with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay by way of recent silent update.
The South Korean carmaker has also axed the 1.5-litre petrol S variant. In its place, the 1.5-litre petrol S+ trim has been introduced.
All but the E variant of the C-segment sedan were equipped with Google Android Auto and Apple CarPlay right from the get-go. Now, Hyundai has made the smartphone mirror features wireless for the S+ and SX variants alone.
Interestingly, the top-spec SX(O) trims will still rely on a wired connection to access the above mentioned features. While the screen sizes remain the same at 8 inches for the S+, SX and SX(O) trims, the top-of-the-line variant comes with BlueLink connected car tech as well.
As mentioned above, Hyundai has discontinued the 1.5-litre petrol S variant and has introduced the 1.5-litre petrol S+ trim which come with 16-inch wheels. The new variant has been priced at Rs. 9.60 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
Apart from the introduction of the new variant, wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, Hyundai Verna did not receive any changes to either the features list or with respect to its powertrains.
At present, the C-segment sedan continues to trail the Honda City in terms of sales (read April 2021 sedan sales article here).
