The facelifted Hyundai Elite i20 will be launched at the 2018 Auto Expo to be held in February.
The Elite i20 has indeed been a runaway success for Hyundai. Not only is it competing neck to neck with the Maruti Baleno but the premium hatchback is also posting strong volumes of approximately 10,000-12,000 units a month even after 3 years of its launch.
Giving a facelift to the Elite i20 will make it a more relevant product in the Indian market and that is what Hyundai is up to. Test mules of the facelifted Elite i20 had been spotted earlier this year. During the launch of the new Verna recently, Hyundai confirmed that the facelifted Elite i20 will make its debut at the 2018 Auto Expo.
With the facelift, an already premium hatchback is set to get even more premium. As with other Hyundai models, the facelifted Elite i20 will also get the signature Hyundai cascading grille and newly designed diamond-cut alloy wheels. Other features expected in the Elite i20 facelift are an electric sunroof, projector fog lamps, Arkamys sound system and Eco-Coating.
The Hyundai Elite i20 facelift will continue to be powered by the same set of engines – a 1.4-litre diesel, 1.2-litre and 1.4-litre petrol motors. Considering that its rival Maruti Baleno gets a turbocharged petrol engine, Hyundai might as well offer a 1.0-litre turbo petrol mill. However, the Korean automaker is yet to confirm this.
