Production for the Hyundai Elite i20 Celebration edition is limited to 600 units and commemorates first year of sales of the premium hatchback.
Launched in August last year, Hyundai has had a great run with the Elite i20 which also turned out be its best selling model in India till date. Having completed a year of sales of the premium hatchback, the Korean auto giant launched the ‘Celebration Edition’ some time back and now prices have been revealed for the same with the limited edition starting at Rs. 6.69 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Production for the Elite i20 Celebration Edition will be limited to 600 units.
Available only with the Polar white paint job, the Hyundai Elite i20 Celebration Edition gets new body graphics with the numerical ‘1’ denoting the first anniversary along with the 3M Satin finished black roof wrap, gloss black C-pillar instead of the matte black finished one on the standard models; 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, sporty looking aluminium pedals and ‘Celebration’ badging on the tailgate.
Under the hood, things are pretty much stock with power coming from a 1.2-litre Kappa Dual VTVT motor producing 83 HP and 113 Nm of torque and a 1.4-litre CRDi diesel that churns out 89 HP and 219 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual for the petrol and a 6-speed manual for the diesel. The Celebration edition is priced at a premium of Rs. 29,990/- over the standard version and the new accessories come in addition to the features on the Sportz trim.
In addition to launching the Celebration edition, Hyundai also introduced the AVN Smart Infotainment System on the Elite i20 and i20 Active in August, keeping the model updated with modern times. As the Maruti Baleno is about to make its entry in the premium hatchback space, Hyundai will have to pull up its socks in order to keep the sales momentum going as the new Japanese hatchback looks very promising.
