Hyundai Elantra BS6 diesel is finally launched, price starts from Rs. 18.70 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The facelifted Elantra was introduced last year in October 2019. It was available only with the 2.0-litre petrol engine since the 1.6-litre of its predecessor got discontinued.
After almost a year, the Hyundai Elantra is available with a diesel engine. It is a new 1.5-litre Bharat Stage 6 compliant oil burner borrowed from the new generation Hyundai Creta.
The 1493cc diesel motor produces 115 PS at 4000 RPM and 250 Nm of torque at 1500-2750 RPM. This engine is available with both 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options. While the MT is offered with the SX trim, the AT is available in SX(O) trim.
It comes with features such as Fully Connected Sedan with Hyundai BlueLink, Wireless Phone Charger, Dynamic LED Quad Projector Headlamps with LED DRLs, Front Ventilated Seats, 10 way adjustable power driver seat, dual zone air conditioning and Chrome Door Handles with Pocket Light.
Some of the safety features include 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), ISOFIX, etc.
The new Elantra gets 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It comes with 8-speaker Infinity audio system.
The Hyundai Elantra is only left with one rival, which is the Honda Civic. Skoda has discontinued the Octavia as the new gen will arrive by February 2021. Meanwhile, Toyota has completely discontinued the Corolla Altis for good.
