The Hyundai Custo teaser images reveal minivan’s interesting design
Hyundai has officially released a few teaser images of its Custo MPV that is set for its global unveil. Developed by Beijing Hyundai, the 3-row vehicle looks like a new generation Tucson with sliding doors.
This teaser campaign comes months after the vehicle’s patent images surfaced online. Also, it has been spotted undisguised in China as well.
The MPV’s radiator grille is what grabs one’s attention the most, for it is a defining styling element of the minivan. Like in the Tucson, the DRLs are part of the grille flanked by slim headlights.
Sharing the fourth-generation Kia Carnival’s platform, the Custo gets a rising beltline, pronounced creases, sliding doors and a flat roof line.
At the rear, the Hyundai Custo teaser images show the MPV’s C-shaped tail lights that are connected by a light bar, while the brand’s name is spelt out in bold lettering. Of course, there is the obligatory rear spoiler and a rear windscreen wiper is also present.
Measuring 4950 mm long, 1850 mm wide, and 1734 mm tall, the minivan is expected to be offered with a 167 HP 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine and a 237 HP 2.0-litre turbo petrol motor. An 8-speed automatic gearbox should be paired with both motors.
To be first introduced in the Chinese market later this year, the Custo will make its way to other Asian countries soon after. It is not known if it will be launched in India as premium MPVs, barring the Toyota Innova Crysta, do not fare well here.
