Hyundai expands Creta lineup with new EX (O) and SX Premium variants
Hyundai Creta now updated with two new – EX (O) and SX Premium. These additions aim to offer customers more choices in terms of features and pricing, further strengthening Creta’s appeal in the compact SUV space.
The new EX (O) variant is positioned as a more feature-packed version of the standard EX trim. Priced at Rs. 12.97 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the 1.5-litre petrol manual version, it goes up to Rs. 15.96 lakhs for the diesel automatic option. A key highlight of this variant is the inclusion of a panoramic sunroof, a feature that has become increasingly sought after by buyers in this segment.
On the higher end, the SX Premium variant offers a richer feature set, including ventilated front seats, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a premium 8-speaker Bose audio system and leather upholstery. These features come in addition to those already offered in the SX trim. Pricing for the SX Premium starts at Rs. 16.18 lakhs for the petrol manual and tops out at Rs. 17.76 lakhs for the diesel manual.
Feature Enhancements
Along with the introduction of new variants, Hyundai has also made some feature updates to existing trims. The top-spec SX (O) variant now comes equipped with a rain-sensing wiper and a wireless charging pad for rear passengers, enhancing convenience for occupants.
Another noteworthy addition is a Smart Key with motion sensors, now offered from the S (O) variant onwards, adding a layer of convenience and security to the SUV.
In terms of aesthetics, Hyundai has also expanded the availability of its popular Titan Grey Matte and Starry Night colour options across the entire Creta range. Previously, these finishes were limited to select higher variants.
Engine and Transmission Options
The Creta continues to be offered with three powertrain choices:
- 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine
- 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine
- 1.5-litre diesel engine
Transmission options include a 6-speed manual gearbox, an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) for the naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) for the turbo-petrol and a 6-speed automatic transmission for the diesel variant.
Pricing and Positioning
With the updated lineup, the Hyundai Creta’s price now ranges between Rs. 11.10 lakhs and Rs. 20.41 lakhs (ex-showroom), offering buyers a wide spectrum of choices across features, performance and price points. These additions and updates reflect Hyundai’s ongoing efforts to keep the Creta fresh and competitive in a segment that continues to witness intense competition.
