With multiple engine options mated to both automatic and manual gearboxes, there is a Creta for all types of buyers
Fast forward to the 2020 Auto Expo when the all-new Hyundai Creta made its debut in India. It grabbed a ton of attention and people just thronged the Hyundai stall to have a look at the vehicle. Hyundai eventually launched the Creta at an attractive starting price of Rs. 9.90 lakhs. Just like the previous Creta, even the new model is offered in a variety of trims, with 3 engine options and 4 transmission options!
The 2020 Hyundai Creta gets a 1.5-litre petrol engine offered with a 6-speed manual transmission or an IVT while the 1.5-litre diesel engine gets either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic. Meanwhile, enthusiasts also have the option of a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine mated to a quick 7-speed DCT. Not only this, but the new Creta also gets Eco, Comfort and Sport driving modes so that you can tweak the performance of the SUV depending on your driving style.
The Creta Turbo is also equipped with paddle-shifters for the times when a driver would want to take manual control of the gears. For those days when you want to go off the road, the high ground clearance comes in to be very handy while the different traction control modes like Snow, Sand and Mud serve their purpose well. With so many goodies for the driver, one can never get bored of driving the new Hyundai Creta.
From power-adjustable ventilated front seats to a driver rearview monitor, the Creta’s cabin is loaded with features
Hyundai has packed in a lot of equipment too. The 2020 Hyundai Creta gets features like a reverse camera with parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system, electric handbrake with auto-hold, and even a driver rearview monitor which shows the view from the rear camera on the large screen even while the vehicle is moving ahead. This is a useful feature when you’re driving on crowded city roads. Hyundai has also been thoughtful enough to add an air-purifier which is again a very useful feature.
The 2020 Hyundai Creta boasts of very comfortable and supportive seats. There’s ample amount of space on offer and the knee room, headroom and shoulder space are impressive both at the front and the rear. The driver’s seat has power adjustment too. For your entertainment needs, there’s a large 10.24-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Bose premium audio system with 8 speakers. Needless to say, the sound quality is fabulous and adds to the driving pleasure.
The bright trio-beam LED headlamps are of great use while driving in the dark. The 17-inch diamond-cut alloys add character to the muscular stance of the vehicle. People who keep forgetting their phone charging cables at home won’t have an issue here because the new Creta also gets wireless charging. Hyundai has got you covered on the safety front with 6 airbags, ABS, ESC, VSM, Hill Start Assist, and even disc brakes both at the front and rear.
BlueLink allows you to control various features of your Creta such as the AC and the sunroof right from your mobile phone
Connected car features are going to be the new norm and the 2020 Hyundai Creta gets BlueLink connectivity. Basically, you can control a lot of features and functions right from your mobile phone. For the days when it’s too hot outside, you can switch on the AC remotely and let it cool the cabin before you step out of your house or office. You can remotely toggle the lights and horn too. Hyundai’s app also displays a multitude of information like service reminders, driving style, car location, etc. Even the sunroof of the vehicle can be controlled with voice commands.
People might think that a vehicle with powerful engines and so much equipment won’t really be fuel-efficient. However, the 2020 Hyundai Creta has an ARAI-rating of 16.9 km/l (IVT) and 16.8 km/l (MT) for the 1.5 petrol engine, 18.5 km/l (AT) and 21.4 km/l (MT) for the diesel engine and 16.8 km/l for the 1.4 petrol engine.
