The Creta fills in the void between the Verna and Elantra in Hyundai India’s lineup and the pricing strategy seems appropriate considering the model won’t cannibalise the sales of its lower segment models. Given the popularity of SUVs today, customers would have opted for the more novel Creta over the Verna, Elite i20 and i20 Active if the former was priced any lower. That said, what makes the model a tad bit pricier than the competition are the segment-leading power figures from both petrol and diesel engines and a tonne of features inside the cabin. The Creta also has its urban good looks in its stride that will add to its popularity. A clearer perspective on the price range will be available at the time of launch.
