Hyundai has named the ix25 as ‘Creta’ for the Indian market. The compact SUV is geared up to set the sales charts on fire.
We all know that Hyundai will be launching the new ix25 compact SUV in the Indian market. The company will be launching the vehicle with the ‘Creta’ name plate. So, the Hyundai Creta is going to be the Korean automaker’s first sub-compact SUV in the Indian auto market. Hyundai feels optimistic and confident about the vehicle’s success not only in India, but also across the world. The Creta is a global model but its Indian variants will be coming with some specific changes made for our market.
Hyundai India has been connecting with customers and taking various types of feedback on their tastes and preferences. The interiors will be similar to the Chinese variant (where the ix25 nameplate is used) but the automaker will make some tweaks to the dashboard colour theme. It is said that the base variants of the vehicle will get a plain black dashboard while top variants will get various colour trims, like blue and orange, as seen on the i20 Active. We can also expect the exteriors to get cosmetic enhancements, such as more chrome. The Creta, however, isn’t a sub 4-metre SUV and hence it’ll be placed in the higher slab of excise duties.
Powering the Hyundai Creta will be the same engines that also deliver power to the Verna. These engines are in the market since quite some time and have proven to be reliable and efficient. The Creta comes across as a promising package, what with its great looks, good equipment list and a nice range of engines on offer. Hyundai always manages to nail the market with pricing and the Creta will be no different a case. The Mahindra XUV5OO, Renault Duster and the Nissan Terrano need to run for cover while the Ford EcoSport also needs to worry a bit even though it is a sub 4-metre vehicle. The Hyundai Creta will be launched in India in the second half of 2015.
