The Hyundai Creta facelift has been showcased at the Sao Paulo show and it should be here in India by end of 2017.
The Hyundai Creta was launched in 2015 and the compact SUV has been quite a success story. The Korean automaker has now revealed the Creta facelift at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show. In this mid-life facelift, the Creta gets some equipment additions, cosmetic tweaks and enhancements.
First up, you get a new grille at the front which is larger in size and comes in a 3-slat design. The front bumper also gets a design change and adds more flair to the styling of the car. The headlights now come with LED DRLs. The side profile of the car remains similar while at the rear you get a redesigned bumper and new tail lamps.
The interiors continue to have the same layout as the current model but the Creta now comes with an updated infotainment system that gets Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The facelifted Creta will go on sale in Brazil in January 2017 and it is expected to come to India in end 2017 or early 2018.
The Brazil-spec car gets 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre flex fuel engines while the Indian-spec car gets petrol and diesel engines. The mechanicals are likely to remain unchanged when the facelift gets launched here.
The Ministry of Road Transport has announced that airbags, reverse parking sensors, high speed alert and manual override for central locking system will have to be compulsory for all cars manufactured on or after 1st October 2017. Most manufacturers will start offering these features slightly before the due date and even the Creta facelift will get these features when launched here.
