The upcoming Hyundai Creta 7-seater has recently been spotted on test in Hyderabad. These images were shared by MotorBeamer Amith who saw the car on test and could not resist taking a few snaps.
Upfront, the development mule, which is painted in silver, looks set to retain the 5-seater model’s design as is. However, the grille, which is set to get chrome studs, is different.
Along the car’s sides there ORVMs with integrated blinkers and dual-tone alloy wheels, and it is from this angle that one would be able to tell it is not the regular Creta.
The additional bodywork behind the C-pillar is apparent and there is a quarter glass at the rear as well.
While we do not have any image of the rear section of the Hyundai Creta 7-seater spotted car, earlier spy shots have revealed that the car will come with a revised tail section featuring a new tailgate and split LED lamps.
Once again, the car’s interior image has evaded us. But, apart from the additional row of seats that will likely be best suited for children (it might also come with a 6-seater variant), the cabin is expected to be similar to the Creta.
Slated to be named the Alcazar when put on sale, the SUV will retain the Creta’s dashboard and get the same set of features already offered with the 5-seater compact SUV, if not more. Engine options too will mirror that of the Creta, but the 1.5-litre NA petrol engine might be given a miss.
Expected to be launched by the second quarter of this year, the Alcazar will rival the MG Hector Plus, the upcoming Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV500.
