The Hyundai Casper unveil should likely take place in India in 2022
The official unveil of the Hyundai Casper micro SUV has taken place overseas. It will first go on sale in the carmaker’s home market, South Korea, and likely make it to India next year.
Hyundai has given its smallest crossover quite a likeable exterior design. Like many of the recent models of the body style, the Casper has also been given a split lighting setup upfront.
The short bonnet has a central bulge, the radiator grille comes with neat detailing, while there is also a skid plate that extends up until the grille.
A different grille, sporting a black finish and 2 circular intakes, and bumper setup will also be on offer on what should likely be a sportier variant.
Along the sides, the Casper’s compact footprint is rather apparent (Hyundai is yet to officially reveal the car’s dimensions). It has squared wheel arches with body cladding, creased fenders, decent-sized windows, roof rails and alloy wheels.
The A-pillars are blacked and the rear door handles are located within the window area. At the back, the previously revealed tail lamp design stays put, and the Casper’s tailgate is largely made up of the rear windscreen.
The rear bumper houses twin circular units for reverse and indication and completing the design is a diffuser-like element that comes painted in silver colour.
In terms of features, the Hyundai Casper will come with LED headlamps and DRLs, a sunroof, and although the interior of the car is yet to be revealed, it should be equipped with a ‘floating’ infotainment touchscreen, connected car tech and loads of other features.
To be powered by a couple of 1.0-litre petrol engines, 1 naturally aspirated and the other turbocharged, the Casper will come with both manual and automatic transmission choices.
When the Hyundai Casper unveil takes place in India, the specifications of the India spec model, which could differ from the Korean model, will be disclosed.
The micro SUV from the Korean firm, when it gets introduced in the Indian market next year, will duke it out with the Maruti Ignis and the upcoming Tata Punch.
