Hyundai Aura CNG E trim is the most affordable CNG powered variant

Hyundai has introduced the Aura CNG E variant at a price of Rs. 7.48 lakhs (ex-showroom), making it the most budget-friendly option in the brand’s CNG sedan lineup. With this launch, Hyundai now offers the Aura CNG in three variants: E, S and SX.

Key Highlights:

  • Price Advantage: The Aura CNG E is Rs. 82,000/- more affordable than the previous entry-level CNG variant, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious buyers. This also positions the Aura as the most affordable CNG sedan in the Indian market, outpricing competitors like the Tata Tigor CNG and Maruti Dzire CNG.
  • CNG Setup: Despite recent updates to Hyundai’s CNG offerings, the Aura continues with a single-cylinder setup. This differs from models like the Grand i10 Nios CNG and Exter CNG, which have been upgraded to dual-cylinder configurations.

Powertrain and Specifications:

The Aura CNG is powered by a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine, delivering 69 HP and 95 Nm of torque in CNG mode. When running on petrol, the engine produces 83 HP and 114 Nm. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard for the CNG variants, while the petrol variants also offer a 5-speed AMT option.

Competition:

The Aura CNG competes with the Tata Tigor CNG, priced between Rs. 7.75 lakhs and Rs. 9.95 lakhs and the Maruti Dzire CNG, which ranges from Rs. 8.44 lakhs to Rs. 9.12 lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom). In the petrol segment, the Aura faces competition from models like the Honda Amaze, with Hyundai pricing the Aura petrol variants from Rs. 6.49 lakhs to Rs. 9.05 lakhs.
