Hyundai Alcazar SUV name trademarked on 13th April 2020. The documents mention it is proposed to be used for a Sport Utility Vehicle. Considering the fact that they have no model named Alcazar in the international market, it is likely to be an all-new SUV. If that’s the case then it is very likely to be the upcoming 7-seater version of the Creta.
The 7-seater model is expected to hit the Indian showrooms by early 2021. The test mules were spotted in Hyundai’s homeland South Korea. Recently, it has been spied on Indian roads as well.
The front profile will look very similar to the 5-seater Creta. However, it will get a larger revised grille with chrome inserts, inspired by Palisade SUV. The car will be longer in length and the bigger dimensions will be imminent from the side profile. It is expected to get new tail lights and revised bumper too.
The interior is likely to get more luxurious with new upholstery and dashboard colours. The additional 3rd row of seat will accommodate 2 more passengers. New features will include 360 degree parking camera, front parking sensors, configurable ambient lighting, etc.
The Alcazar will be positioned above the Hyundai Creta with an estimated price difference of Rs. 2 lakhs. Engine options are likely to remain the same as the 5-seater. It will compete against a wide range of SUVs including Mahindra XUV500, Tata Gravitas, MG Hector Plus, etc.
