Hyundai Alcazar Facelift Launched In India, Priced From Rs. 14.99 Lakhs

Hyundai Alcazar facelift gets the new design language, available in both petrol and diesel

Hyundai Alcazar facelift launched, comes with a starting price of Rs. 14.99s lakhs for the petrol manual transmission 7-seater variant, while diesel variants begin at Rs. 15.99 lakhs (ex-showroom and introductory). Though the vehicle sees no mechanical changes, it boasts significant updates to its design and features. The facelift is available in four trims: Executive, Prestige, Platinum and Signature and bookings are now open for a token amount of Rs. 25,000/-.

Exterior Design and Features

The most noticeable changes to the new Alcazar are at the front. The SUV now features a bold H-shaped LED Daytime Running Lamp design, connected by a light bar. The larger grille with horizontal slats enhances the vehicle’s presence, while the bumper gets a more prominent air intake framed by silver accents, giving the front end a chunkier appearance.

In profile, changes are minimal but the updated model gets new 18-inch alloy wheels and functional roof rails. The rear sees a full-width tail lamp design with a large H-shaped motif and silver detailing on the bumpers for a sportier aesthetic.

The Alcazar facelift will be available in nine exterior colours, with eight monotone options including new additions like Atlas White, Robust Emerald Pearl and Fiery Red. It will also offer a dual-tone variant featuring Atlas White with an Abyss Black roof.

Interior and Features

Inside, the Alcazar facelift adopts the same dashboard layout as the recently updated Creta, featuring dual 10.25-inch screens for the infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster. The cabin also gets a new dual-tone tan and dark blue colour scheme.

A notable update is the removal of the fixed centre console between the second-row captain seats in the 6-seater configuration, providing more space for easier access to the third row. The second-row seats now feature extendable thigh support, ventilation and a ‘boss mode’ for additional legroom by adjusting the front passenger seat from the rear. Rear passengers also benefit from fold-out tray tables and sunshades.

On the safety front, the facelift introduces Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including features like adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist. Other highlights include a voice-activated panoramic sunroof, powered front seats, wireless charging for both front and middle rows, dual-zone climate control, a Bose sound system, connected car features, a 360-degree camera and six airbags.

Powertrain and Performance

Under the hood, the Alcazar facelift continues with the same engine options: a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. The petrol engine produces 160 HP and 253 Nm of torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. The diesel unit generates 116 HP and 250Nm of torque and is available with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. Both engines are front-wheel drive and offer multiple drive and traction control modes, including settings for snow, sand and mud.

Competitors

The updated Hyundai Alcazar will continue to compete with rivals in the midsize SUV segment, including the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700 and MG Hector Plus. With its refreshed design and added features, Hyundai aims to strengthen its position in this competitive space.
