The Elite i20 is the bestselling car in Hyundai India’s lineup garnering 56,000 bookings in just 4 months of launch. It sold 10,500 units last month.
With the phenomenal reviews the Elite i20 received at the time of launch in August this year, it comes as no surprise that the 2015 Hyundai i20 has clocked 56,000 bookings within four months of hitting the showrooms making it the South Korean automaker’s bestselling hatchback for the year. Having made its world debut in India, prioritising the Indian market with a global product has surely paid for Hyundai as the premium hatchback achieved the remarkable number faster than any of its other successful products including the Grand i10 as well as the Xcent compact sedan.
In its second generation, the Hyundai Elite i20 broke into the top 10 most selling cars within the second month of launch and has been consistently clocking in the numbers month-on-month ever since. The company sold a whopping 10,500 units of the new i20 in November this year, the highest the hatchback has ever achieved over the past years. Overwhelmed by the achievement, Hyundai stated with the growing demand, the automaker is currently working towards faster deliveries to offer a delightful experience to customers.
Available in the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel engine options, the 2015 Hyundai Elite i20 has been designed and engineered at the company’s centres in Germany. The premium hatchback has also grown in dimensions over its predecessor, while the equipment list is extensively longer this time round as well. Moreover, the new i20 also manages to be frugal with an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 18.24 km/l on the petrol and 21.76 km/l on the diesel versions.
Hyundai also stated that the innovative 360-degree marketing campaign ‘Uncompromise’ for the Elite i20 has resonated with the customers and has helped create the hatchback into a super performer. The company currently retails the Elite i20 through its 405 dealers across the country backed by 1000 service points. The success of the Elite i20 has also strengthened Hyundai’s position in the premium hatchback space against rivals like the Volkswagen Polo and Fiat Punto Evo among others in the segment. Following up on the Elite i20’s success, Hyundai is also planning a Cross version that will come out early next year.
