You read it first on MotorBeam. Earlier this week, DSK-Hyosung announced its plans for the upcoming Auto Expo. The company will finally launch the Aquila 250 (it will be called Aquila 250, no GV250 to be used) in the Indian market on 6th February. The launch of this cruiser was set for the second half of last year but currency fluctuations led to the delay in the arrival of this vehicle. The Aquila isn’t new to us as the Korean bike was already on sale in India last decade. When Hyosung entered India in collaboration with Kinetic, they sold the Aquila and Comet in the country. The Aquila 250 is making a return and should do decent numbers.
Hyosung dealers have started taking bookings for the Aquila 250 and the booking amount is Rs. 25,000/-. Deliveries will start post Auto Expo and the on-road price of the bike is Rs. 3.10 lakhs. DSK-Hyosung are currently using the CKD route to bring down motorcycles. The Aquila is an excellent alternative for those looking for a powerful cruiser motorcycle but don’t want the usual Royal Enfield. The pricing of the Hyosung Aquila 250 puts it right in reach of those who find Harley-Davidson bikes expensive. Only one variant of the motorcycle is offered in two colours – red and black.
The Hyosung Aquila 250 is powered by a 249cc, V-twin engine which uses an oil-cooler. This motor outputs 26.21 BHP of power and 22 Nm of torque. The powerplant is coupled to a 5-speed gearbox. With a 14-litre fuel tank and a mileage of 27-30 km/l, expect the Aquila 250 to offer a decent touring range. Hyosung will offer a range of accessories for the Aquila, just like it does for the ST7 and GV650 Aquila Pro. The front uses a 110 mm tyre while the rear makes do with a 150 mm. The Aquila 250 should offer good long distance riding capability.
