Husqvarna has launched the Vitpilen 250 and Svartpilen 250 in India at Rs. 1.80 lakh.
After a lot of anticipation, Husqvarna has officially entered the Indian market with two products, the Vitpilen 250 and Svartpilen 250. Both the motorcycles have been launched in India at a price of Rs. 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom). The Husqvarna motorcycles will be sold from KTM showrooms itself.
Both these motorcycles are based on the KTM Duke 250 and earlier Bajaj Auto had stated that Husqvarna will be positioned as a more premium brand in comparison to KTM, but looking at the pricing, the Husky siblings are cheaper than the Duke 250 by almost Rs. 20,000/- which is indeed great pricing.
The Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 is a cafe racer while the Svartpilen 250 is a scrambler. Both the motorcycles look extremely attractive and are bound to stand out on our roads. The styling looks similar to their respective 401 siblings.
In terms of mechanicals, a lot of stuff is shared with the KTM Duke 250. Both the motorcycles are powered by the same 248.8cc, liquid-cooled, single-cyl engine that produces 30 HP at 9000 RPM and 24 Nm at 7500 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. While the Vitpilen weighs 153 kgs, the Svartpilen tips the scales at 154 kgs.
The pricing for these motorcycles is introductory and the cost is expected to increase after a few weeks. These bikes will arrive in showrooms in March and initially they will be available at 100 showrooms in 45 cities which will later be expanded to close to 400 showrooms.
